Romina is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with over 17 years of post-graduate experience in therapeutic practice and in acute Mental Health.

She possesses extensive experience working with clients affected by mental health diagnoses (depression, anxiety, BPD, BD, PTSD, Schizophrenia), gender and sexual health issues, addictions, grief and loss, bereavement, situational stress and adjustment issues, family conflict and relationship issues.

She holds a Bachelor of Bachelor of Social Work (Buenos Aires University/ Argentina) and postgraduate qualifications (Master’s in counselling, Macquarie University).

She works from a recovery-focused and trauma-informed approaches, providing safety, trustworthiness, choice, empowerment and cultural sensitivity to his clients. Within this framework of trauma informed care, she draws on a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities including, Internal Family Systems (IFS) , Attachments Theory. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT).

Romina comes from a Spanish Speaking/Latina American Community, she embraces diversity and has extensive experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

She strongly believes in people’s capacity to grow and change, is committed to working collaboratively with people, assisting clients to gain a new insights and positive changes in their lives, works holistically with the person, not just their symptoms or diagnosis.

She focusses personal and interpersonal awareness, emotional regulation and processing, and building resilience and strengths to empower healthy life choices and changes.
