Claudie Larose
PSYCHOLOGIST
Claudie helps clients with their psychological and emotional issues using an eclectic and holistic approach, which involves CBT within a systems framework, and includes a family of origin approach when required.
Claudie’s key areas are adjustment to life changes such as loss, bereavement and trauma including work and transport accident claims, loss of income, transition to parenting, attachment issues and relationship enhancement. New immigrant issues and adjusting to a new culture be it from overseas or intra country migration are my other areas of specialisation.
Claudie’s strengths are in teaching coping strategies using mainly somatic processes such as, breathing techniques and Mindfulness for anxiety reduction including creative visualisation. Claudie also uses art & expressive therapies with both children and adults.
Claudie has worked as a psychologist across over thirty organisations, with a range of client groups from the neurodiverse, parents and their children, refugees, army veterans, the long-term unemployed and work and transport compensation victims. Claudie has also worked within the disability sector, in vocational counselling and has been privileged to listen to the life stories of thousands of people and to work with them on their journeys.
Claudie has also worked as an academic psychologist across seven Australian universities and has been involved in a decade long study on Life Satisfaction and positive psychology. An important focus for Claudie is assisting clients to reaffirm their meaning and purpose in life.
