Aisling Creighton

PSYCHOLOGIST


Aisling Creighton is a warm registered psychologist who has worked therapeutically with children, adolescents and adults since 2018. Originally from Ireland, Aisling completed her B.A in Psychology in Trinity College, Dublin in 2018 and her Master of Science in Applied Psychology in Trinity College, Dublin in 2019. Aisling worked for several years in Ireland, predominantly supporting children, teens and young adults across a variety of educational settings. Aisling is passionate about early intervention and prevention. Since moving to Australia in 2022, Aisling has worked therapeutically with clients in a variety of settings including employment services, schools and private practice.

Aisling has extensive experience supporting children and teenagers with a range of emotional difficulties including anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, low mood, grief and social difficulties. Aisling has a special interest in working with neuro-divergent individuals including those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and learning disabilities. Her work often involves working with parents and schools on strategies to support them. Aisling also provides cognitive assessments and prepares reports that give an overview of an individual's cognitive strengths and weaknesses, and assist in the diagnosis of ADHD.

Aisling also enjoys working with adults who are experiencing a range of difficulties including anxiety, OCD, phobias, depression, grief and loss, trauma and self-esteem related issues. Aisling believes in adopting a collaborative and strengths-based approach that empowers the individual. Aisling is trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and integrates techniques from Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Compassion-focused Therapy in her practice.
